The holidays are the perfect time of year to sip on something festive and bubbly with your loved ones and this bubbly cocktail is full of holiday cheer! These cranberry prosecco mimosas are perfect for the holidays -or any time of the year, really! They’re cozy, sweet, and tart with the perfect amount of fizz.

This cocktail could not be any easier. There isn’t any mixing, shaking, or stirring required! Pour the ingredients into your glasses and enjoy. A traditional mimosa is made with a delicious combination of sparkling wine and orange juice. This holiday mimosa is made with prosecco, an Italian sparkling wine similar to champagne.

If you love prosecco, check out this raspberry ginger fizz! It’s another one of my personal favorites! Ready to make fresh mimosas? Let’s do it.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Mimosas are super quick and super easy. There’s hardly any work involved.
  • This is the perfect mimosa idea -it’s great for Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s day and even for a relaxing evening in.
  • It’s super easy to customize with non-alcoholic ingredients for the kids and non-drinkers.
  • It’s sweet, tart, bubbly and delicious.

Ingredients You’ll Need

You will need 4 champagne flutes (preferably chilled) and these 5 simple ingredients:

  • Orange Juice (freshly squeezed): You can also use store-bought juice here. Just make sure it’s 100% juice and pulp-free.
  • Cranberry Juice: I prefer to use 100% cranberry juice rather than cranberry cocktail in drinks. Unsweetened cranberry juice doesn’t have any refined sugar or additives. However, cranberry juice and cranberry cocktail are interchangeable in this drink.
  • Prosecco (chilled): Prosecco is a light and fruity sparking wine from the Veneto region of Italy. It tastes fantastic with sweet and tart berry and citrus flavors.
  • Fresh Cranberries and Orange Slices (optional): A few fresh cranberries and an orange slice are perfect ways to garnish each drink.

How To Make A Cranberry Prosecco Cocktail

These festive holiday mimosas take less than a minute to make. Here’s how it’s done:

Step 1: Pour orange juice.

Pour 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of the orange juice into each of the champagne flutes.

Step 2: Add cranberry juice.

Next, add 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of cranberry juice to each flute.

Step 3: Top with prosecco.

Hold each flute at a slight angle and top the rest of the flute with cold prosecco.

Step 4: Garnish and serve.

Drop a few cranberries into each cocktail and garnish with a slice of orange, if you like. Cheers!

Recipe Tips

  • Since this mimosa doesn’t have any ice, make sure the prosecco is super cold. Chill the bottle for a couple of hours ahead of time.
  • Chill the glasses. Place the champagne flutes in the freezer 10 to 15 minutes in advance.
  • Prosecco is super bubbly, so be sure to tilt the glass at a slight angle and slowly pour. Mimosas should have a layer of foam, but if you pour the prosecco too quickly, the foam will make a huge mess.
  • No stirring – it disrupts the bubbles.
  • Use store-bought frozen cranberries or freeze fresh cranberries a few hours in advance. Garnishing with a few frozen berries looks nice and helps keep the drink cold longer.

Variations

  • Make cranberry grapefruit mimosas. Use freshly squeezed grapefruit juice instead of orange juice for a tarter version -or set up a mimosa bar and serve the ingredients separately. Then, your guests can pick either flavor and pour the drink themselves.
  • Add a 1/4 teaspoon of orange liqueur (Triple Sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier) to each mimosa before serving. It helps balance the sweetness and adds a burst of citrus.
  • I love prosecco, but feel free to use a different sparkling wine. Champagne and cava wine (Spanish sparkling wine) are just as bubbly and delicious.

Storing

Storing: Once the prosecco is mixed with juice, the bubbles and fizz won’t last much longer. That said, it’s best to make mimosas right before serving. If you happen to have leftover ingredients, you should store them in the fridge separately. After being opened and recorked, the bubbles will keep for 1 to 2 days.

Recipe FAQ

Can I make a non-alcoholic fresh cranberry mimosa?

Yes! -and the mocktail version is equally as quick, easy, and tasty. Replace the prosecco with sparkling soda, non-alcoholic sparkling wine, ginger ale, or lemon-lime flavored soda.,

What prosecco is best for mimosas?

You don’t need to break the bank on a premium brand prosecco. La Marca is a well-bodied, sweet, and sparkly prosecco perfect for mimosas. It’s budget-friendly and easy to find in stores.

What should I serve with prosecco mimosas?

Mimosas are a great pick-me-up, especially around brunch time. For a complete holiday brunch, serve your mimosas with ham hashbrown casserole, loaded potato breakfast casserole, or sausage and egg casserole.
