Apple Monster Mouth Snack
A fun and super simple apple monster mouth snack for Halloween made with apples, candy corn, peanut butter, and almonds. Kids love this healthier Halloween treat!
This fun Halloween snack for kids is fun to make and packed with good nutrients. I first found this “monster mouths” idea in a special Halloween edition of Better Homes and Gardens from 2007. I love them and the kids get a kick out of these goofy monster mouths.
Almonds and candy corn make great “monster teeth” for the apples. You can incorporate many fun ideas here, like using an edible black pen to create the look of rotten teeth.
How To Make An Apple Monster Mouth Snack
Ingredients You’ll Need:
3-4 green or red apples
1/4 cup peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)
candy corn or slivered almonds for “teeth”
*optional: black edible marker for coloring “teeth”
Directions:
Rinse the apples, then cut them in half. You want to work around the core so that you end up with two flat pieces (on the inside) of about the same size. Now slice a small piece off the bottom of one of your halves so that the mouth will lay flat on the plate. Smear the inside of the slices with peanut butter and place the “teeth” inside. Enjoy! These Halloween apples are fun for kids to make and eat!
