Simple Shrimp Cocktail Presentation
An elegant presentation for shrimp cocktail and simple way to keep shrimp cold and fresh at your next party or holiday gathering.
Shrimp cocktail is one of my favorite “go-to” appetizers for a party or gathering. It’s easy to assemble, it’s super healthy and it’s delicious. What more could you ask for??!
I found a simple and pretty way to serve shrimp cocktail that will keep it cold for several hours.
Fill a glass bowl or trifle dish about halfway full of ice. Place a small glass bowl in the center for the cocktail sauce and then place sliced lemons on the sides of the larger bowl.
Top off the bowl with more ice and add the shrimp around the top and resting on the sides. Pretty and functional! Now you have a pretty dish to serve and your shrimp stays cold, tasty, and fresh.
I filled the outer punch bowl with ice and placed the lemons on top. Next, I filled the trifle bowl with ice and placed the shrimp on top. Then I placed a few more shrimp and lemon wedges along the sides. It’s the same idea, just a different way to serve it. I love how well it keeps the shrimp cool and makes an elegant presentation.

You’re welcome Rozanna!
do you worry about the ice melting over a period of an hour or more?
It melts a bit, but stays cold long enough to serve. You can also freeze the bowl prior to serving.
How do you keep the ice from sticking to the shrimp?
Hi Agnes! I used fairly large ice cubes and it worked great.
Did you have an issue with condensation from the ice bowl dripping on the table?
Hi Kelly! If it’s out for a long period of time or in a warm room the ice will start to melt. I usually put a runner underneath to absorb any condensation.
