Homemade red salsa is made in a Vitamix or high-powered blender in 5 minutes! Fresh tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, lime juice, and cilantro make this easy salsa recipe the best salsa ever!
5Roma Tomatoescut into quarters- I used 5 med-large Roma tomatoes. You can go with 6 if they are on the smaller side.
1/2onionchopped into four pieces- I go with sweet onion, but use your favorite variety for salsa
1jalapenostem removed, sliced in half and seeded- feel free to keep the seeds for extra spicy salsa!
1/4cupfresh cilantrostems removed, packed
2clovesgarlic
2tbspfreshly squeezed lime juiceabout 1 large lime juiced
1/2tspcumin
1tspsaltadjust to taste
Instructions
Place the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and spices into the Vitamix canister and secure lid. Blend on Variable #1, then quickly bump to Variable #2 using a tamper to push ingredients into the blade.
Blend until desired texture is reached (I like mine a little chunky).
Notes
If you don't have a Vitamix or high-powered blender you can easily make it in a food processor. Place the tomatoes, jalapeño, onion, garlic, and cilantro into the food processor and pulse until the desired texture is achieved.
