Morning Fruit and Veggie Smoothie

  • ½ cup organic apple juice from pressed apples not from concentrate. I use R.W. Knudsen organic apple juice
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 small carrot peeled and cut in half
  • 1 cup baby kale I just grab a big handful
  • 5 large frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup frozen wild blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon shelled hemp seeds aka hemp hearts


  • Throw everything into a blender or Vitamix starting with the liquid and blend until smooth.  Serve immediately.


You can change up the fruits to use what you have on hand.  I love kiwi & mango in this drink, too. You can boost the protein with a couple more tablespoons of hemp hearts, or a scoop of plant-based protein powder.
