Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh squeezed orange juice or store-bought not from concentrate juice. You can also use carrot juice for half of the OJ
  • ½ cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt can also use low-fat Greek yogurt
  • 15 grams vanilla whey protein powder or your favorite protein powder (about ½ normal scoop)
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Serve immediately

Notes

  • To sneak in some veggies and make this orange smoothie even more orange, add carrot juice! Cut half of the orange juice and replace it with fresh-pressed or store-bought carrot juice.
  • Using frozen fruit instead of ice cubes to chill smoothies gives them a hike in nutrients and a creamier texture, but be sure to serve the drink immediately as the blended fruit will thaw quickly.
  • This recipe will give you a creamy smoothie just thin enough to drink through a straw. For a thicker consistency (perhaps for a smoothie bowl), add more Greek yogurt and frozen fruit. For a thinner consistency, add more juice.
  • Add a drop of orange food coloring for a pop of vibrant color
