Ingredients

  • 30 g chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp chopped unsalted hazelnuts lightly toasted
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tsp real maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • ¾-1 cup ice

Instructions

  • Blend all in a Vitamix or blender and serve immediately.
  • Makes one large serving or two small (snack size) servings.

Notes

*Protein powder taste and quality makes a difference here- go with one you love! My favorites are Earth Fed Muscle, Legion.
*Adjust the amount of sweetener to taste. Some protein powders are sweet enough alone, but the maple syrup adds a delicious caramel-like sweetness to the shake.
*Freeze your milk of choice in ice cube trays and sub for the ice for a creamier shake
