24Kings Hawaiian original sweet rollsIf you can find the 24-count party pack, it fits perfectly in a 9x13 pan. Otherwise, go with two 12-count packages
1.25lbdeli hamthinly sliced
8ozswiss cheesethinly sliced
1/2cupbutter
1tbspDijon mustard
1tbspbrown sugar
1/2tbspWorcestershire sauce
1tbsppoppy seeds
1/2tbspdried minced onion
1/4tspgarlic powder
1tspdried parsleyoptional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and spray a 9x13" baking dish with olive oil spray.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half by slicing through the middle of the rolls and place the bottom of the rolls in the baking dish.
Add a layer of ham, followed by a layer of swiss cheese, then another layer of ham. Cover with the top of the rolls.
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe dish until melted (about 30-45 seconds) then stir in the remaining ingredients.
Slowly pour the butter mixture over the top of the rolls in the dish, making sure that it gets down into the sides of the pan. I use a pastry brush to evenly coat all of the rolls with the marinade. Allow the rolls to marinate for 10 minutes then loosely cover with foil.
Bake for 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake an additional 5-10 minutes until lightly golden on top. Serve immediately.
Notes
Take your time slowwwwly pouring the poppy seed butter sauce over the sliders, so it drips down the sides of the sandwiches and seeps into the bottom pieces of bread. I use a pastry brush to get it nice and evenly dispersed.
To make gluten-free ham delights, swap the Worcestershire sauce for gluten-free soy sauce or coconut aminos, and use a light and fluffy homemade or store-bought brand gluten-free dinner roll.
To avoid the rolls from over-browning check for doneness 5 minutes after the foil is removed during baking.
