1tspcermemonial grade matcha
30gramsvanilla whey protein powder*optional but adds a nice protein boost
1cupice
Instructions
In a blender container, add the frozen strawberries, ½ cup almond milk, vanilla, and stevia.
Blend until smooth and pour into the bottom of two glasses (or one for one large serving).
Rinse out the blender, then add the matcha layer ingredients: ½ cup almond milk, Greek yogurt, frozen banana, honey, matcha, and ice.
Blend until smooth and it pour over the top of the blended strawberry layer in the glass and enjoy. Garnish with fresh strawberries, if desired.
Notes
Consistency. You can adjust the amount of ice (in the matcha layer) and the amount of milk (in the strawberry layer) to achieve your desired thickness.
Use frozen fruit. Frozen strawberries and bananas are the key to that perfect thick, creamy consistency in both layers. If you use fresh fruit, add extra ice to compensate.
Adjust sweetness. The amount of stevia or honey you need depends on the ripeness of your fruit and personal taste. Start with a small amount and taste as you go. Remember, you can always add a little more, but reducing sweetness is more challenging once it’s too sweet.
Chill your glasses ahead of time. A cold glass keeps your smoothie cooler longer, making it extra refreshing on a warm day.
