Best Gluten-Free Chicken Marinade

A simple gluten-free chicken marinade recipe made with olive oil, Tamari, fresh lime juice, garlic, brown sugar, and a blend of seasonings. Makes enough for 4-5 pounds of meat

Ingredients

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ cup Tamari soy sauce works if you don't need GF
  • ½ cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 3 cloves garlic pressed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh black pepper
  • ½-1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 2-3 tablespoon brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Accent seasoning or substitute with a salt-free all-purpose seasoning, like Mrs. Dash

Instructions

  • Whisk all ingredients together and add your meat
  • Cover and soak overnight
  • I use this for boneless and bone-in chicken breasts, flank steak and london broil

Notes

*Serving size for 1 tablespoon of marinade
  • For food safety, you should never reuse marinade. Throw it away when the chicken is finished marinating.
  • You can, however, set some aside to baste while grilling.
  • Plan ahead, so you have plenty of time to marinate chicken drumsticks or any meat you like overnight. If marinating the day of, soak the chicken in gluten-free marinade at least 5 hours in advance.
  • Feel free to add in your favorite fresh herbs! I always have fresh herbs in the garden during the summer months.
