Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

  • 2 15oz cans chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 1 6oz jar roasted red bell peppers, drained
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil plus a little more for drizzling on top
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • sliced carrots or pita chips for serving


  1. Process all ingredients in a food processor until smooth, scraping down sides a couple of times during processing. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and chopped roasted peppers. Serve with carrots and pita chips.
