Ingredients

  • 16 oz center cut boneless pork chops 4 (4 oz) chops
  • 3/ 4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar I used organic cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme removed from stem
  • ½ navel orange juice and zest

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix water, sugar and salt until it dissolves.  Add garlic powder, thyme, orange zest and juice and whisk together until well blended.  
  • Trim any visible fat from your pork chops; tenderize using a meat mallet or the bottom of a glass.  
  • Add the pork chops and the marinade to a resealable plastic bag and refrigerate no more than 2 hours.
  • Grill the pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the proper internal temperature is reached (at least 145 F.) Allow chops to rest for several minutes prior to serving.
