These are so good! They’re easy to make, and have great macros. I loved them and will be making them again!

Hi Dave. First of all, my serving size is divided into 10 bars from a 9x13 pan. This is a very generous serving, considering that almost all homemade rice crispy treat recipes are divided into 24 servings for a 9x13 pan. A popular recipe online for homemade rice crispy treats divided into 24 servings has the following macros (many don't even include them): 162 calories, 27 G carbs, 15 g sugar, and 6 g fat. If you divided it by 10- which would be my serving size, it would be 388 calories, 65 g carbs, 36 g sugar, and 14 g fat. Almost double. You can easily cut the pan into small portion sizes for a reduced macro split. IMO, homemade rice crispy treats taste so much better than store bought without all the added ingredients. In prepackaged rice crispy treats you get the following ingredients: Toasted rice cereal (rice, sugar, salt, malt flavor), corn syrup, fructose, vegetable oil (soybean and palm oil with TBHQ for freshness), sugar, corn syrup solids. Contains 2% or less of vegetable glycerin, dextrose, gelatin, natural and artificial flavors (contains milk), salt, DATEM, acetylated monoglycerides, soy lecithin, BHT for freshness. If that is your jam, awesome! I'm not a food ingredient alarmist or judgy when it comes to someone else's food intake. You do you. Also, I have no idea how including additional information in my post has anything to do with humility. That's a rude, judgmental assumption. My blog is my full-time business and if it is not for you, then that's ok too. There are plenty of recipe websites to chose from.

222 cals vs 90 cals in a regular rice Krispies treat, 17g carbs vs 35g carbs, just to get 7g of protein. why not just have one egg and a regular cheap rice Krispie treat that taste much better? Not to mention the time put in and money spent. It's cals in and cals out, stop making things up and posting a long life story essay before that actual ingredients. Have some humility.
