Picking farm fresh strawberries has become a yearly tradition for our family. I finally made it out to Southern Belle Farms this year to pick strawberries before it gets too hot. The season starts in April in Georgia.
I have supported this wonderful local farm since we moved here in 2009. The strawberries are beautiful, sweet and delicious.
Blackberries and blueberries will arrive in a couple of weeks, so I hope to make another visit soon. Luckily, it’s only a few minutes from my house. The perks of living in a small, southern town.

When To Pick Farm Fresh Strawberries In The South
It’s late into their strawberry season and it’s getting hot in Georgia, but the berries are still beautiful. Strawberry season starts in April here and goes until the end of July. Prime picking time for strawberries is May and June.
I am happy with my selection today. These are some big, ripe beauties! Now time to head home to enjoy all the fresh berries. My daughter will devour these fast, so I need to get busy cooking with them before they all disappear!
