I have had Dick’s cakes all my life for every occasion including my wedding. I still go there when I visit my Ohio family and drive from Michigan. Now I really have to try this recipe! I’m very excited. Any suggestions on a butter cream frosting like theirs? It’s not super sweet but it’s amazing with the cake😊

A keeper recipe. Love it. I reduced the baking soda to 1 tbsp. I also substitute 1 1/2 all purpose flour with 1 1/2 cup of almond flour. Love it!!!

Hi Kitty! It is 2 tablespoons. I know it sounds like a lot, but it helps to soften the dates and works beautifully in this cake recipe.
