Hi Jodi! I love to make this for meal prep and throw a little whipped cottage cheese and extra Parmesan in when I heat it back up. It will make the pasta too mushy if it sits in a warm crockpot. Can you cook it ahead of time, make sure the pasta is al dente, and reheat it right before serving? I would toss in some extra olive oil or butter, and parmesan for the best texture after it's reheated.

Can I make this ahead of a picnic and keep it on low in a crockpot until ready to eat or will it become mush? Any suggestions or the best way to do this when you can’t eat it right away?

I’ve had this and it was so good. I went looking for a similar recipe and was so glad to find this. Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback. We like them a bit saltier, but I know that preference varies. I'm just going to change the recipe to add salt to taste, so you can adjust it as needed. I also used coarse salt, which is less than regular salt because the granules are larger. If you used regular salt, that would make a big difference.
